Who can participate in Global Green Action Day?

Global Green Action Day is designed for professionals driving sustainability and innovation within their organizations. This includes sustainability and innovation teams working on the ground to implement initiatives, project leads and program managers overseeing sustainability or innovation projects, and department heads in R&D, procurement, supply chain, and other roles where sustainability and innovation are critical. Middle management professionals, such as sustainability managers, innovation managers, and operations managers, who are responsible for driving day-to-day change, are also key participants. Additionally, we invite experts from academia, NGOs, and other thought-leadership communities to ensure a wide range of perspectives and experiences. This diversity helps create more robust and innovative solutions to the challenges we face.

What kind of challenges will be addressed on Action Day?

The Global Green Action Day focuses on real-world challenges submitted by businesses, public sector organizations, and NGOs. These challenges revolve around plastic pollution, circular economy, decarbonization, and AI for sustainability. Participants will work on strategies to reduce, replace, or eliminate plastic in products and supply chains, develop business models that promote reusability and recycling, explore ways to optimize energy use and reduce emissions, and investigate how artificial intelligence can accelerate sustainable transformation. All challenges are practical and action-driven, ensuring that organizations leave the event with concrete ideas that can be implemented.

Can I participate only in the Action Day without completing the training?

No, the training is mandatory to attend the Action Day on June 5. This requirement ensures that all participants arrive prepared, informed, and ready to collaborate, making the Action Day discussions more impactful and solution-oriented. However, if you are unable to attend the Action Day, you can still enroll in the training, which will remain available for self-paced learning.

What happens if I don’t complete the training on time?

Participants must complete the training by June 2 in order to join the Action Day. Those who do not finish on time will not be able to participate in the live event but will still have six months of access to the training materials after June 5. This allows for continued learning at a flexible pace, even beyond the event.

What is the cost to participate?

The cost for the full training and participation in the Action Day is €450 per person. This includes access to all training modules, warm-up sessions, and accelerator sessions, as well as participation in the Global Green Action Day, either online or in-person. Additionally, participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion. The learning materials remain available for six months after the event. Group discounts are available for organizations registering multiple participants.

Will I receive a certificate for completing the training?

Yes, participants who complete the training and take part in the Global Green Action Day will receive a certificate of completion from Global Green Action Day, together with Next Agents, The Good Tribe, and Think Big Leaders. This certification recognizes expertise in sustainability-driven innovation and acknowledges the contribution to tackling real-world challenges.

Can my company submit a challenge?

Yes, organizations are encouraged to submit a sustainability challenge to be worked on during the Action Day. These challenges provide an opportunity to gain fresh perspectives and innovative ideas from diverse teams. More details on the Challenge Partner process and how to submit a challenge can be found in the information document available here

How are teams formed for the Action Day?

Teams are carefully curated to ensure a diverse mix of expertise, experience, and perspectives. The goal is to create well-balanced groups that maximize creativity and problem-solving potential, leading to meaningful and actionable outcomes.

What language will the training and Action Day be in?

The entire training program, including online modules, discussions, and live sessions, will be conducted in English. The online Action Day will also be fully in English. However, for those attending the in-person sessions, teams can collaborate in the local language of their chosen location. Regardless of the working language, all final solutions must be submitted in English.

Will I need to bring anything to the Action Day?

There is no need to bring any specific materials to the Action Day.
