Our expert speakers will share valuable insights from diverse fields — including grassroots activism, policy development, innovation and environmental protection — showcasing practical approaches to reduce plastic waste and accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

🎙 Speakers:

🔹 Åsa Stenmarck – Responsible for National Plastics Coordination, Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket). Åsa has extensive experience in plastic and material-related issues, leading national efforts to coordinate plastic reduction strategies. She is also an expert in negotiations for the global plastics treaty and contributed to the new EU Packaging Directive.

🔹 Elisah Pals – Founder of Zero Waste Netherlands, Elisah will share strategies for mobilizing communities and businesses to adopt zero waste practices, providing practical insights on reducing plastic at the source.

🔹 Larissa CopelloPackaging & Reuse Policy Officer at Zero Waste Europe, Larissa will discuss how progressive policies are shaping a more sustainable future, driving innovative reuse models and holding industries accountable.

🔹 Mathew Maged WelsonFounder of Peukenzee. Mathew will join the panel to share insights from Peukenzee, an initiative transforming extinguished cigarette filters into valuable resources. He will discuss how ecological innovation can address urban waste challenges, highlighting practical solutions and the impact of repurposing waste into new products.
